Imagine this: You walk into a movie theater. The main feature hasn’t even started, but you’re already hooked on the next movie you want to watch because those trailers? They’re doing their job. They tease. They make you curious. 

And most importantly,  they leave you wanting more!

Hollywood starts promoting movies 120 days in advance for a reason. They know that success on opening weekend hinges on one thing: anticipation. And your launch is no different.

Here’s what you can steal from Hollywood:

  • Use Open Loops to Hook Attention
    Movie trailers don’t give everything away. Instead, they leave just enough mystery to drive us nuts (in a good way). This taps into something called the Information Gap Theory—our brains crave closure. In your pre-launch content, leave some questions unanswered to keep your audience coming back for more.

  • Get in Front of the Right Audience
    Trailers play before movies with a similar vibe. That’s not random—it’s strategy. You can do the same by positioning your content in front of warm audiences who already buy what you’re selling.

  • Pre-Sell Without Pressure
    Just like Taylor Swift’s fans who’ve pre-ordered her album months ahead of release, your audience can commit before your cart even opens. My clients have tripled launch revenue just by creating buzz early on—and without endless content creation.
