Is Your Pre-Launch Strategy Working Against You?
What if the reason your launch feels harder isn’t because you need more emails, more content, or more effort?
It might be because your pre-launch strategy is taking you in the wrong direction.
I hear versions of this from business owners all the time: “I’m working harder every year to get the same results.” Or, even more frustrating, they’re working harder and getting worse results.
That’s usually when the second-guessing starts.
Is my offer still good? Do people want this? Am I sending the right emails? Should I be doing more on my podcast?
But before you add another task to your launch plan, there’s a different question I want you to ask.
Why Your Pre-Launch Strategy Needs a Heading
My husband is a small-plane pilot, and before he flies, he puts the coordinates for his destination into his GPS and compass.
Get those coordinates wrong at the beginning, and you can fly for hours before realizing you’re nowhere near where you intended to go.
Business can work the same way.
You can be moving. You can be publishing content. You can be sending emails. You can be doing all the things.
But your pre-launch strategy needs more than movement. It needs the right heading.
Because doing more in the wrong direction doesn’t get you where you want to go faster.
What Happens When Your Pre-Launch Strategy Meets New Conditions?
Even when a pilot has the correct destination, conditions can change.
The wind shifts.
Suddenly, what was helping the plane move forward is working against it.
Your market changes, too. And the messaging or content that worked during your last launch may not automatically work the same way this time.
That doesn’t necessarily mean your offer is bad or that you need to tear apart your entire launch.
It might mean it’s time to evaluate the conditions around you—and adjust.
A few things we dig into in this episode:
- Why your pre-launch strategy should focus on the type of content you’re creating, not simply the amount
- What shifting beliefs and addressing objections actually have to do with buyer readiness
- Why “I should know how to do this by now” can lead experienced business owners in the wrong direction
- The simple question that can help you spot when you’re focused on speed instead of your destination
A Better Pre-Launch Strategy Doesn’t Mean More Work
This is the part I really want you to hear:
Pre-launch doesn’t have to mean adding a giant pile of work to your already-full plate.
It’s about being more intentional with the work you’re already doing.
Think of it like finding the altitude where the wind starts working for you instead of against you. Your emails, podcast episodes, and other content can create momentum when they’re intentionally moving your audience toward the beliefs they need before they’re ready to buy.
And that’s very different from publishing more content just because you think you’re supposed to.
Check Your Pre-Launch Strategy Before You Pick Up Speed
So before your next launch, ask yourself:
When was the last time I checked my heading instead of my speed?
If your launches have started feeling harder—or you’re doing more without seeing more results—this episode will help you think differently about what may need to change.
